I haven't read Shakespeare in ages (high school) and felt actual fear at the thought of trying to understand the text. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed reading King Lear, as enjoyable as a tragedy can be. Such a sad and desperately tragic story!! It seemed as though a character died in every scene. I found myself enjoying the time spent reading this book and playing out the scenes in my imagination as I read. My favorite part of the story are all the insults that exchange between Kent and Oswald, earning Kent a stint in the stocks (See Act II SceneII). Shakespeare had a true talent for name calling. Thank-you for the book choice. It's a wonderful surprise to enjoy something I never would have read on my own accord.  ~SaraSue

The name calling is the funniest part.  I subscribe to the Shakespeare insult-of-the-day on my igoogle.  The family loves it.  ~Caryn

I loved the insult part too! It was so funny, and I loved it when Kent got put in the stocks. That was hilarious.  ~Diana
