I love this book, because though the heroine lacks backbone in her romantic life, she is
uncompromising in other areas. Eventually, she gains her voice and that, coupled with her constancy of character, earn her the love of her life. It's a story about being who you are and letting love to come to you, which is a fantastic message in this day and age where we are constantly told that we need to be "more this," "less that" in order to be loved.
