Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy

Needed:
Printout 1
Ice Cream
Toppings for a sundae
Other toppings (ketchup, steak sauce , Mustard, Salad dressing, Salt, etc)

Preperation: Prep a table with Printout 1 and two groups of toppings and sauces group 1: chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, sprinkles, nuts etc group 2: ketchup, steak sauce, salad dressing, bacon bits etc

Lesson:
Ask for a volunteer and give them a Sundae glass with Ice cream in and ask them what they would like on it. Question them by picking out an item from group 2 that you know they like e.g : "But don't you want ketchup? I know you like it?" They will reply something like "not on ice-cream". Clarify by saying "Oh, so its good but not on a Sundae?" They should then confirm this. Thank them for participating and say that although there are many things that might be good for us to do such as sport, they aren't appropriate on the Sabbath.

Make a list of things which would be appropriate for you to enjoy as a family on the Sabbath (use our Sunday Activities as a reference if you want)

When lesson is over everyone can make sundaes to enjoy !!!
