Timeline of the apostasy

Finally in the meridian of time the Son of God Himself was sent  in to the world to atone for our sins and to organize His Church upon the earth.  But Jesus was mocked, crowned with thorns and crucified.  It was not very long before all of the apostles chosen by Jesus had suffered a violent death except John who was exiled to the Isle of Patmos.
    Then without inspired leadership, the Church sank to the level of a purely human institution.  Many of the original Christian doctrines were changed, some were lost, some new ones were added and because of the unrighteousness of people the world slipped into that long, dark night of apostasy.    - Sterling W.
