Apple Yam Casserole


6-8 yams
6-8 apples
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
4 T cornstarch
1/4 cup butter
3/4 tsp. salt
cinnamon

Boil yams til tender; peel and slice.  Peel and slice apples.  Arrange
apples and yams in layers with yams ending as the top layer.

Mix cornstarch, sugar, salt, and cinnamon (to taste).  Add water.  Bring
to boil; add butter and cook til thick.  Cover apples and yams with sauce
and bake about 1 hour (at 350 degrees) or until apples are done. (Contributed By Keri Beauchamp)
