Christmas Meals and Food Ideas Christmas Pies - At our house on Christmas Eve morning I make three pie crusts (and one pie crust top). For Christmas Eve dinner make a homemade chicken pot pie, for dessert a banana cream pie, and I save the last crust for Christmas morning when we have quiche. It is nice because there is little work to do Christmas morning in order to have a special breakfast. Sugar Cookie Assembly Line - During the Christmas season we would pick one night to make sugar cookies. Our family would be a mass production assembly line, cutting, cooking, and decorating all the cookies, then we would deliver the, to family and friends. (contributed by Keri Beauchamp) Counties of the world Christmas Dinner - In 1984 my wife and I wanted something different for our Christmas dinner. It seems that often Christmas is just another rehash of Thanksgiving. We both enjoy Mexican cuisine and after some research into Mexican Christmas traditions, we prepared a traditional Mexican Christmas dinner. Since that beginning over twenty years ago, we have learned about Christmas traditions and experienced Christmas meals from many lands. We made choices based on family history, our children’s school studies, missions, and a liking for various cuisines. Not all countries are Christian in belief, so we choose typical meals from those countries for our Christmas dinner. This year we are going Thai in recognition of my grandson Tynon who we sometimes call Ty. I imagine next year will be Ireland since Tynon is an Irish name. - David Hibberd Brunch with the Missionaries - We always invite the missionaries for Christmas brunch.
