The Twelve Days of Christmas

There are lots of ways to present the 12 days of Christmas to someone. The key is not getting caught. This may require some late nights and early mornings, but the effort is well worth it.

Step 1. Pick who you will be giving your gifts to. (A true love, A lonely widow, etc.)

Step 2. Start thinking about the gifts you will give (Baked goods, small gifts, Symbolic gifts representing the words).

Step 3. Start 12 days before Christmas, the 14th (If you want to end on Christmas Eve, start on the 13th)

Here are some gift ideas: (Many of these include fake birds. Keep your eyes out for these at your nearby craft stores, check to make origami ones, or maybe at the toy store.)

The First Day: A partridge in a Pear Tree:
There are many ornaments  you could purchase and give with a partridge in a pear tree.
Find a fake bird (available in craft stores) and place it on a little bush or branch (add pears).

The Second Day: Two Turtle Doves:
B
uy two bars of Dove Soap and carve them into turtles, making sure you don't carve off the word "Dove" on the soap.

The Third Day: Three French Hen
B
uy three little birds (at a craft store or toy store). Place them on a picture or mini-statue of an Eifel tower and glue some quote bubbles on them with French words written on them.

The Fourth Day: Four Calling Birds:
P
ut four little birds on a real telephone. (you can find cheap phones at any thrift store.)

The Fifth Day: Five Gold Rings:
They have fake gold rings at thrift stores. Tie them with  Christmas ribbon and put them in a small jewelry gift box.
If you are giving to a girl, buy 3 pair of gold hoop earrings (a size she would like and give her five of them. Put the last one with one of the other days, like one of the drums for twelve drummers.)

The Sixth Day: Six Geese a Laying:
Use a big white balloon for an egg, (or make a big paper mache one). Place 6 Geese on top.
Use an egg carton with six hard boiled eggs in it.  Put six pipe cleaner gees on top. Close the carton.

The Seventh Day: Seven Swans a Swimming:
F
ind the cheapest blow up pool you can (or use a bucket.) Fill it with water and have Seven rubber ducks swimming in it. Put Christmas bows around the ducks necks. (you can also use and eggnog carton. Empty the carton, cut it down the middle long ways and pour some eggnog back in.)

The Eighth Day: Eight Maids a Milking:
G
et a surgical glove, or any kind of glove that will blow up. Blow it up and put eight maids (made out of pipe cleaner, or any other way) on the fingers of the glove.

The Ninth Day: Nine Ladies Dancing:
P
urchase some pillow stuffing from you local craft store. Place it on a piece of cardboard. Work with it to make it look like fog. Place nine dancers in the fog to make a beautiful scene. You might want to put some mini Christmas trees in the scene as well.

The Tenth Day: Ten Lords a Leaping:
F
ind a can that shoots out snakes. (These trick cans can be found in many novelty shops or magic stores). Open the can and put in ten "Lords" (small babies, or anything else you can find), in the can with the snakes. When they open the can it will be "Ten Lords a Leaping"!

The Eleventh Day: Eleven Pipers Piping:
F
ind a horn, (there are lots of decorative ones that are inexpensive in the craft or discount stores). Have eleven pipers blowing into it. Some can be at the end listening. You can make them out of "pipe" cleaner.

The Twelfth Day: Twelve Drummers Drumming:
T
his has to be the biggest thing. the big finale. Make a huge gingerbread house, or candy house. Use gumdrops (with toothpicks as drumsticks) to have twelve drummers coming out of the house.
