Non-LDS
Friends and Family
Here is a place to share ideas on helping friends and family who cannot attend the wedding still be a part of the day.

When my niece was married, her parents weren't LDS. The sealer brought her parents into the front room of the temple and spoke some very comforting words to them.

Before the wedding day, I went over things my family (not LDS) could do during the sealing, since we were married in the Oakland temple. I suggested the Visitor Center, the walk on the roof top, and the lobby. I also had my mom & cousin help me get dressed in the bathrooms of the lobby. I know it is not as elegant as the brides room but it gave my mom the opportunity to help me get ready. (The visitors center bathrooms would work as well). I didn't feel like I missed out on anything and I finished preparing for the sealing in the brides room. Then about 30 min before the reception was to start we had a ring ceremony in the RS room. We invited our family and close friends who were not LDS. This was a nice way to make our family feel included in a ""ceremony."" And our bishop explained what happened at the temple and why we chose that as part of the ring ceremony. It was really beautiful. - Cassandra Spaeth
