This is a great family trip. You get to take a handcart and go around a trail and see what it was like for the handcart companies to push there handcarts. It was a lot harder than you think. Blessed were the pioneers with strong teenage boys!!! It is very spiritual also where so many lost their lives. - Rhonda I remember the beautiful May weekend that President Hinckley dedicated the site. There have been Eagle Scout projects and local Stake projects that have continued to develop the area since then. The handcart pioneers suffered, but they taught us the meaning of true and valiant dedication. If only we can be as firm in our own faith!
